Language Facilitators
Get help sooner rather than later.
When communicating with your child:
- Make eye contact
- Take talking turns
- Slow all talking
- Repeat words and phrases often
- Don’t say “say…..”
- Make communication relevant
- Talk about events
- Listen and show interest in what your child is saying
- If you are unsure of what he/she wants to say, paraphrase it in very simple language
- Use short correct sentences
